Horseless Carriage to Make Debut

Could you imagine Central Park in NYC without the horse-drawn carriages driving through it? That’s exactly how Brooklyn-born exotic car designer, Jason Wenig, pictures it.

According to an article in the New York Daily News, Wenig is building a prototype of an electric “horseless carriage” that could debut on city streets in about a year. His impetus for the new design? Wenig loves animals and thinks this is a great way to replace the horses used in the current carriages. Not only that, his vehicle, which is designed to fit eight people, features ergonomic and safety features not available in horse-drawn carriages, such as a sound system and seat belts.

While there are definitely some politics involved in the project, Wenig is not interested in getting involved. “I’m a car builder,” he said. “I’m so thrilled to get to build this beautiful piece of machinery for my city.”
