According to Urban Dictionary, a selfie is defined as, “a picture taken of yourself that is planned to be uploaded to Facebook or any other sort of social networking website. You can usually see the person’s arm holding out the camera in which case you can clearly tell that this person does not have any friends to take pictures of them so they resort to social networks to find internet friends and post pictures of themselves, taken by themselves. A selfie is usually accompanied by a kissy face or the individual looking in a direction that is not towards the camera.
If you weren’t aware of a selfie beforehand, hopefuly you are now better informed. If you aren’t aware of Kendall Jenner, she is the 17 year half-sister of reality television star Kim Kardashian. You might be rolling your eyes at this point and asking yourself, what does this have to do with have to do with car insurance and why do I care about Kendall Jenner? Don’t worry, we’ll get there!
Jenner, the teen who has over six million Twitter followers, displayed some driving tactics that the fine folks at SafeAuto certainly don’t approve (yes, we’re one of her followers). While driving, the cell phone camera was turned to Jenner as she was making funny faces and looking directly at the device.
Clearly, Jenner was trying to post a video to her large social media following. Considering her track record (she was caught last year texting and driving on a California freeway) she should be paying attention to the road and keeping her cell phone away. In California, the law states, “all drivers [are prohibited] from using a handheld wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle.”
