Road Trips Expected to Rise During July 4th as Gas Prices Drop

Road Trip!!!

The July 4th Holiday results in loads of road trips across the United States as families leave home for the long weekend. According to, the regular gasoline average price in the United States on June 26 was $3.45 and the price is expected to slide even lower as loaded cars, SUV’s and minivans hop on the roadway to find attractive firework and barbeque destinations with family and friends for July 4th.

SafeAuto Insurance, a state-minimum auto insurance company, has always prided themselves on their affordable pricing, and is always trying to save money for their consumers. This summer, not only are they helping consumers save money on their insurance rates, SafeAuto has also started a gas card giveaway on their Facebook page to help offset the traveling costs during the recent tough economic times.

New SafeAuto Spokesperson Norm Macdonald didn’t’ stay mum on the gas situation either. Instead of pondering about gas prices in the latest edition of “Street Smarts,” Norm vented about the confusing state of gas pricing signage (see video below).

The good news for drivers is that road trips during the summer of 2012 are becoming more realistic as gas prices drop to a more affordable rate. Norm Macdonald may be confused about the signage of gas prices, but no one is confused about who has the lowest insurance rates around!
