The SafeAuto Fight Team proudly represented themselves at UFC ® 128. The trio of Edson Barboza, Kamal Shalorus, and Luiz Cane went 2-1 at the Prudential Center on Saturday night.
In an excellent kickboxing display, Edson Barboza defeated Anthony Njokuani 29-28 on all three judge’s cards. Barboza didn’t need to hear the judge’s results to know he had won the fight. The Brazilian joyously celebrated as the final seconds ticked away in the last round. Barboza was correct, the unanimous decision victory brought his record to an impressive 8-0, 2-0 UFC ®
Luiz Cane, a motivated, nasty striker, looked like a man on a mission against Eliot Marshall. Behind some big straight lefts and hooks, Marshall dropped to the floor and the rest was history. Cane was awarded the TKO finish at the 2:15 mark of the opening round. This snaps a two fight losing streak for Cane and brings his record to 12-3, 4-3 UFC. ®
Kamal Shalorus was not able to pull off the trifecta for the SafeAuto Fight Team. Jim Miller knocked out the Iranian-British mixed martial artist in the third round. Shalorus’ record drops to 7-1-2, 0-1 UFC. ®
The SafeAuto Fight Team once again exemplified their hard work ethic and talent at UFC ® 128. Be sure to follow the Insurance Companie’s fighters as they continue to represent SafeAuto in the biggest UFC bouts.
