Clay “The Carpenter” Guida and Thiago Silva will be the next fighters to represent the SafeAuto Fight Team in the octagon on Saturday, January 1, 2011 during UFC 125 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dubbed UFC 125: Resolution, the event features Frankie Edgar defending his title against Gray Maynard as the headliner of the evening.
In other main card fights, Guida will take on Takanori Gomi as Guida will look to bring his wild hair and unrelenting work ethic in front of the crowd and those watching on television world-wide. Guida looks forward to representing the SafeAuto Fight Team for the first time.
As one of the most popular fighters in the UFC, Guida believes he is primed for a title run and his fight against Gomi will give fans a chance to see that Guida has the skills and power to go along with his intense desire to win.
Another fighter making his debut as a member of the SafeAuto Fight Team is Brazilian Thiago Silva. Silva returns to the octagon after taking a year off due to an injured back. Silva will take on Brandon Vera in a fight in which both fighters will look to spring back into title contention. Silva said that his back feels great and he looks forward to representing the SafeAuto Fight Team in 2011.
The SafeAuto Fight Team currently has a cumulative record of 1-0-1 after Stephan Bonnar won in The Ultimate Fighter 12 finale last month, and the draw came from Travis Browne, after he battled with Cheick Kongo in UFC 120.
